         Brief Analysis of the Critical Role of Papermaking Forming Fabrics

      Paper manufacturing relies heavily on papermaking machinery and raw materials. Among these, papermaking forming fabrics, which shape paper sheets, constitute a pivotal factor governing the advancement of the paper industry. Accordingly, the evolution of papermaking forming fabrics mirrors the developmental history of the paper industry as a whole.

          Polyester forming fabrics boast numerous advantages over metal wire meshes, including superior fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance, enabling their rapid uptake and widespread application across the paper industry. China successfully put polyester forming fabrics into industrial papermaking service in 1983, laying a solid foundation for their further popularization. In 1984, China began importing complete sets of polyester fabric production equipment from overseas. The industry has since evolved from single-layer polyester forming fabrics to today’s multi-layer variants, greatly boosting the growth of China’s papermaking sector.

          The proper selection and application of polyester forming fabrics carry immense significance for upgrading paper quality, lifting production efficiency and cutting operational costs. Against the backdrop of booming domestic papermaking, intensified research and development of wide-width, high-speed papermaking forming fabric looms tailored for weaving polyester forming fabrics has become an inevitable trend. Developing more efficient, high-grade forming fabric looms is essential to meet the rising demands of China’s paper industry.
           This loom is engineered for weaving single-layer and multi-layer polyester forming fabrics for papermaking, with a reed width ranging from 5,500 mm to 12,800 mm, classifying it as an extra-wide rapier loom domestically. Its main wall panels adopt cast iron box-type structures, and the entire machine is mounted on an integrated base. The weft insertion system employs a servo motor-driven dual rapier mechanism with six-color weft selection. The shedding mechanism features a double-side multi-lift shedding structure supporting 20 harness frames. Both warp feeding and cloth take-up are servo motor-controlled, featuring dual warp beams for positive warp delivery and three-roll positive take-up. The beating-up system adopts a segmented split combined crank four-linkage beating-up structure, while the main drive system utilizes a new double-side reluctance motor coaxial transmission setup.
